Beef Casserole

INGREDIENTS:

• 500g chuck steak or round steak, diced & floured 
• 1 x sliced bacon rasher
• 1 onion, chopped
• 2 cloves garlic
• 1 large carrot sliced
• 1 potato chopped
• 1 cup of frozen peas
• sprinkle of oregano & basil
• 1 Oxo stock cube dissolved in 1 cup of hot water
• 1 sachet tomato paste
• Just cover with red wine
• Splash of Worcestershire sauce
• Salt & pepper to season

METHOD:

Brown onion, garlic and beef in a heavy pot, add wine, stock & tomato paste once beef is browned, simmer on low heat or place in oven at 180 degrees until tender, about 1 ½ hours add peas and cook for another 5 to 10 minutes.

Serve with mashed potato.
